February meeting

Humph Hack told us about www.getitmade.com. It seems like a genuine and useful way of funding a product.
We had 2 new members, Geoff, a civil engineer, and Terry, who had lots of ideas. We listened to several of Terry's ideas. One of these wouldn't have worked, but the others had already been done successfully. We're hoping to hear some more of these next month. Geoff had brought a piece of high-tech paving slab material, from Charles, for the guys working on the Upton flood defense project to look at. Marcus showed us the latest plan for the flood defense barrier, which is now designed to automatically deploy itself, but is still a simple, low maintenance design.
The members present were me ( Dan ), Francis, Humph, Rick, Geoff, Malcolm, Terry, Maurice, Guy, Mike, Jed, Marcus.

January meeting

Tonight we were Barry, Malcolm White, Gordon, Morris, Mike Redman, Michael Polley, Jed, Guy Unwin, Dan Heeks ( me ). I collected membership money from 7 of us. Guy showed us some metal bird feeders that he had made. They were shiny garden sculptures as well as being functional. Michael got us thinking some more about intelligent clothing. Jed told us about his recent successes with local business. I showed everyone some of the milling I had been doing and told them about my software. Guy had also brought in a simple portable exercise bike that he had bought, that you could put under the desk and pedal while working on your computer. I need something like this, so I have decided to buy the PowerPlus Cougar, which can power my laptop while I pedal it. See the picture.
